What is 55pixel?
55pixel is a free online toolbox for working with PDFs and images. Every tool runs entirely in your browser using modern JavaScript APIs — your files are never sent to any server, never stored in the cloud, and never accessible to anyone but you. No account is required, no installation needed, and there are no usage limits.
Our Mission
We believe that essential file conversion and processing tools should be free, fast, and private for everyone — not locked behind subscription plans or accounts. 55pixel was built to give individuals, students, freelancers, and small businesses access to professional-quality tools that respect their time and privacy. Every design decision on this site prioritises simplicity, speed, and user trust.
Our Tools
Currently available on 55pixel: a PDF to JPG converter that extracts every page of a PDF as a high-resolution JPG image; a JPG to PDF converter that combines up to 50 images into a single multi-page PDF; and an image compressor that reduces JPG, PNG, and WEBP file sizes by 40–80% while keeping visual quality high. All three tools support both English and Arabic interfaces. More tools are in development, including PDF compression and image resizing.
How the Technology Works
55pixel uses battle-tested open-source libraries that run directly in the browser. The PDF to JPG tool is powered by Mozilla's PDF.js, which renders PDF pages onto HTML5 canvas elements at up to 2.5× resolution. The JPG to PDF tool uses jsPDF to assemble images into a properly formatted PDF document. Image compression uses the browser's native Canvas API to re-encode images at your chosen quality level. All processing is done client-side using JavaScript — there is no backend server involved in handling your files.
Privacy First
Unlike most online file tools, 55pixel processes everything locally in your browser. Your files never leave your device. We do not store, analyse, transmit, or have any access to any file you work with. The only data we collect is standard web analytics (page views, browser type, country) through Google Analytics — we do not log filenames, file contents, or conversion activity.
